The Band

DROP SYNDROME is an EMO Hardcore mixed with Thrash-metal music that is one of the under-rated underground bands in Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines. They are composed of seven musicians who are; Michael Tumulak on main vocal, JP de la Rama on guitars, Michael Fajardo on Bass, Jay-R Toledo on drums and Dboy on Custom Percussions.

Band History

The Band started 3 years ago. Before they were DROP SYNDROME the band's first name was ZIP-LOCK which consists of five members and they were; Marc Joone on lead vocals, Michael Dalagan on backing vocals, JP de la Rama on guitars, Michael Fajardo on bass and Jay-R Toledo on drums. They were a struggling band before and a tragic accident which involves Michael Dalagan who took his own life on the 27th of June the year 2001. And all members were on a brink of existence. It took two months to recover from the awful tragedy. Then the band tried so hard to rise back on top which they recruited the brother of Marc Joone, Michael Tumulak who took on the lead vocals and acquired back up vocals Khenn Balladares. Months after the tragedy they were back on top with their new rosters and still kicking ass! After sometime they felt that something was missing so they recruited DJ DBoy to do the turntable thing.

 

Music Influences

Each member of the band has different kinds of music influences, so they decided to mix all their music influences to form some kind of new music. Music influences vary from Rap-metal music, EMO metal music. Hardcore music, Metal music, Ska and Reggae music, Hip-hop kind of music, Alternative music and plain old Rock music. Major influences of the band are music from major bands like ChicoSci, Greyhoundz, Slapshock, Cheese, P.O.D., Sevendust, Staind, Hoobastank, Puddle of Mudd, Deftones, Slipknot, Drowning Pool. This means that by fusing all these kinds of music it forms the word DROP SYNDROME.

The leader of the band, the main vocalist and the song writer of the group. He used to be on the band LEECH, now the main man of DROP SYNDROME
JOONE 2X TUMULAK

The older brother of Mic2x, the second vocalist of DROP SYNDROME.

JP DE LA RAMA

The guitar player, the riff maker of the group.
IKIL FAJARDO

"Blast"
The Bass man, the melody creator.

JAY-R TOLEDO

"T_Jay-R"
The Drummer boy, the all around kid.

DHUNJI BOY CABRERA

"Dhaboy"
The Percussions, the youngest of the group.
